State Representative Ed Sullivan Jr, who is fighting in GOP Primary battle against Bob Bednar (you might remember him from such classy moves as having his supporters criticize Ed Sullivan's mother-in-law for being a gay woman) has been endorsed by the Cuda Township Republicans.
From the Sun-Times:
State Representative Ed Sullivan was endorsed for re-election by the Cuba Township Republicans this past Saturday.
”The candidates we endorsed today represent the promise of a better future for Illinois” said Bruce Sauer, Chairman of the Cuba Township Republicans. “Their dedication, policy ideas and talents point us toward unprecedented Republican victories in November.”
Candidates were invited to present their case and answer questions from the Cuba Township Republican Precinct Committeemen at a closed meeting held on January 18 in Barrington. Committeemen then voted by secret ballot. Candidates who received a 2/3 majority of the vote were endorsed by the organization.
“I am honored to have the support of the hard-working Republicans in Cuba Township,” said Sullivan. “Since I was elected in 2002, I have helped lead the charge to block tax increases on Illinois families. Unfortunately, Speaker Madigan and the Democrat majority in Springfield need to consistently hike taxes to fund their spending addiction. I am dedicated to fighting against higher taxes and increased spending while working towards achieving property tax relief for homeowners.”
