Gasp! We've Intercepted Some Politicans' Secret Valentines

With some help from Cupid, the Illinois Truth Team was able to intercept a handful of Valentines that have been distributed from some members of the Illinois Political Class.

Forget Christmas Cards from Politicians with photos of their families and Labradors in Santa hats.  There might not be a more important holiday for Illinois Politicians than Valentine's Day when it comes to making sure those you really care about (Campaign Donors, Journalists, Special Interests, Fringe Members of extreme political parties) know you're thinking about it.

Did you get a Valentine from your favorite politician?

As for these we've intercepted....Shhhsh!  Don't tell them that we've found these and posted them.  We don't want to ruin the surprise for their intended target.  (Special thanks to one of our 'tipsters' for sending a few of these our way!)

Here's the 2014 Illinois Political Valentines (so far)

Former Cicero Town President Betty Loren Maltese sent this one to the newsroom of the Sun-Times.  She's eager to make amends with the political team there and earn some strong coverage again.

Everyone's favorite former Cook County Chair Todd Stroger, aka "The Toddler", is trying to get back into the good graces of the political elite, so he has been dropping this card into the little decorated shoeboxes on everyone's desk around the Cook County Building.

Democrat Comptroller Candidate Sheila Simon is giving eyes to Chicago Union Bosses in the hope of luring them back to her camp and away from Judy Baar Topinka.

Bobby "Blue Eyes" Grogan makes all his (apparently very small base of) supporters swoon.

Have you seen a political Valentine?  Or...made one?  Send it our way:  tipthetruthteam@gmail.com.
