This is the same guy who's leading the charge on uncovering the details around Governor Pat Quinn's NRI scandal. Good for him. He's taking the slot held by long-timer Kirk Dillard who recently retired from the State Senate:
Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) has appointed Senator Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) to take the top Republican spot on the Senate Judiciary committee.
“Senator Barickman has proven his leadership abilities through his work on this and other committees, including as co-chair of the Legislative Audit Commission,” said Sen. Radogno. “I look forward to having him take the lead for our caucus on the very important legislation that comes before this committee.”
Sen. Barickman’s appointment fills a vacancy created by the departing Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale), who is leaving the Senate to chair the Regional Transportation Authority.
